In the age of constant change, do you know where you will be in ten years? Do you know where your business will be? Considering how quickly the world changes, is it necessary to think this far ahead?

The answer is yes!

Having an idea of where you want to end guides your decision making and planning.

Yes, you may have to change direction or processes, but a vision statement is not meant to be stagnant. It is meant to be reviewed and updated as the business develops and operates in a world of change.

If you want to create a future, take the step below and create your vision and dream.

Creating A Vision Statement

Vision – Mission – Purpose

A vision statement tells the world what your company’s long-term goals and ambitions are. It is how you see yourself or your organization in the future and what you will achieve. It helps you to plan and be strategic, should be reviewed, and updated regularly.

The vision statement is just one part of defining a business. The other important areas to consider are the purpose and mission of the business. The purpose is why the business operates beyond making money, while the mission statement identifies what the company is currently doing. There is debate on which of these three areas should be considered first.

What comes first?

Commonly, business planning suggests starting with the vision statement, which is the big picture and dream, followed by the purpose and mission statements. Another approach is to consider the purpose, followed by the vision and mission statements.

The approach you use is personal. If you are someone who likes to think about the big picture of a project, then the common approach would be suitable. However, there is considerable benefit to considering what the purpose of the business is prior to thinking about the end product. If you are not clear about what and why you are doing something, then it is hard to imagine the end vision. It is important that all these areas align and work seamlessly to make your business successful.
